this is an old one
my mother
a baptist minister’s wife
was a prayer warrior
spiritual & full of love
i knew every day
she’d pray for me
& my siblings
it was a comfort
seeing as i needed a lot
of it
i remember my parent’s nightly
devotionals & mother praying
late at night
i would hold my breath & listen
and imagine an angel’s whispers
in the distance

Through my dad … sweetest tribute of memories … and the shaping of my life, contribution to my work ethics … and the pride and honor of being his daughter!
