Free Write Friday; Time and Place Scenario
Click here to read the complete introduction.
Welcome back to Free Write Friday! I hope everyone had a very happy Christmas and are looking forward to a brand new year! I want to say thank you to everyone who has been a consistent reader and participant this year. Your loyalty, encouragement and support has been my driving force and you are all seeds that have helped Magic in the Backyard grow into what I consider a most beautiful garden, each representing a colorful flower of optimism, passion, kindness and personality I wish nothing but the best for all of you in 2012! May the sun always shine upon you. Big hugs!
O.k. o.k. enough with the mushy stuff, let’s get to the prompt…
I want to try something a little different this weekend. I got the idea from a free write contest I entered over at AllPoetry.com a while back and thought it might be fun to do one with you! If participation goes well, I will throw these in more often. It’s a “Time and Place” prompt. These are really fun to do and broaden the creativity spectrum a bit, allowing you to, that’s right…use your imagination! Don’t worry, it is actually quite simple! I literally give you a time and place and you take it from there, creating a “stream of thought” free write/story for what the prompt brings to mind. This may stir a memory of some sort and that is great, use it! If not, that’s o.k. too, you are a writer, a word magician, an imaginative dreamer who can bring it to life and I am so excited to see what you do with it! Are you ready?
You are young. It’s springtime and you find yourself walking down a dirt road with a cut on your knee…

Have a great weekend!

Hi Kellie
Sorry again for the delay! Here’s mine for Friday, on Monday lol This was awesome! It inspired a lil story out of me, which I haven’t been able to do for a while as of late! Thanks for the wonderful prompt! http://wp.me/p1rAEu-8G

thank you Kellie, you reminded me of a nice spring day I almost forgot. Although the cut was on my thigh, not my knee, it fits very well with this prompt.
Kellie, I have nominated you for the Candle Lighter Award:

When I saw Kellie’s prompt this morning, this poem came immediately to mind. I opted to go the story route, simply because I was itching to write some more on that little tale. Ater seeing Mark’s story, I couldn’t resist, so I’m putting in a second entry. I hope y’all don’t mind! Oh, and Kellie, I, for one, appreciate that you put the FWF up early today!

Either my techno-challenged brain is on the blink, or the inlinx frog is messin with me. I couldn’t figure out how to post after I clicked on it. So here’s my entry the old fashion way. You will note that you’ve finally gone and forced me into including FWF in my ongoing saga, “The Last Grain of Sand”. I like it!

The frog is all fixed!
It wasn’t you, Charles…it was me, I had the wrong link attached to it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The road leads into the distance in a tantalising way and the words you wrote suit the view beautifully. The grazed knee gave a touch of drama.
Came to make sure the pingback was there
Hope you like it, Kellie! xo
