#FWF Free Write Friday; Weekly Inspirations for Writers & Creators by Jessica Kristie

Welcome back to Free Write Friday! I hope everyone had an amazing week and were able to find something wonderful to inspire you. If not, no fear…for this edition of FWF, I’d like to introduce all of you brilliant, creative minds to my colleague and friend, the multi-talented writer and poet extraordinaire, Jessica Kristie.

Jessica Kristie is the author of several poetry books, and the co-creator for the ArtPlatform book Inspiration Speaks Volume 1 which is now available in print and eBook through all major retailers, and benefits ColaLife.org. She is also the founder of the Woodland, CA, poetry series, Inspiring Words—Poetry in Woodland.

Dreaming in Darkness is Jessica’s first volume of poetry; the winner of the 2011 Sharp Writ Award and nominated for a 2011 Pushcart Prize. Jessica’s second book, Threads of Life, is available through Winter Goose Publishing along with her NEW eBook offering to writers, Weekly Inspirations for Writers & Creators

Writers and creators can often face a roller coaster of emotions that build unnecessary barriers to the artistic flow. Weekly Inspirations for Writers & Creators contains fifty-two topics followed by affirmations and writing prompts, tips and inspiring activities to engage and build confidence. Each week you will have an idea to focus on and a small task to complete that help you in your journey to overcome, and keep creating.

With thanks to Jessica for allowing me to use an excerpt from her new book, I have chosen week 43 instead of a traditional FWF prompt, offering you the opportunity to just write.

*Week 43: Uninhibited writing can grow the writing spirit. It breaks
down barriers that we may not have known we had.

Say This: Walls will not block my creativity. I will create
with no boundaries.

This Week Do This:
• Practice free-flow writing. At least once this week
write with your stream of consciousness. Don’t fix
mistakes or censor yourself, just write.

In respect to Jessica’s fiery spirit in her work, I challenge you to write about something you are passionate about. What is it you see, smell, remember, feel, hear that never fails to ignite your page?  What fuels your pen? Ah, see…you already thought of something, didn’t you?

  3. I had a great session with this but for now it must remain under cover because it was the seed for a challenge poem that will go public Tuesday and I don’t want to spoil the outcome! Any way just a shout of gratitude for these posts, Kellie, and writing all!

  7. Something I am passionate about is the life script (or life story) that we each have. It raises so many questions and choices. How do you use the script you have lived with? Would you rewrite it if you could? What possibilities would you write next for yourself if there were no limits? What would change if you rewrote it? You get the idea!

Anyway, this seemed fitting for this week… http://wp.me/p2dIML-3W
