She curled up
in between the lines,
inhaling paper perfume
as she entered another world;
where magic still existed,
where love was more than
four letters and
said too much.
Where fairy tales are told
and never sold.
And there,
she played in the colors of hope,
filling her jar
with the dust of dreams
to sprinkle on her
tear stained pillow
and in her windowsill of
forgetfulness.
Just in case
believing escaped her
and they became lost.
And she hoped that someday,
if they could see it,
if they could feel it too
they might come back to her
from their secret places
between the lines.
My kind of mind . . . This was exceptional!
This was exquisite.

I came across this by chance, and what a beautiful piece of writing!
I felt a touch of stardust fall on my shoulder as I read this. Awesome read.
Beautiful Kellie, loved the line – she played in the colors of hope! I just posted poem with a similar them for my daughter on Valentines Day “Princess Dreams” http://malekoarts.wordpress.com/2013/02/13/princess-dreams/
Kellie, your words above, I found myself drifting back to my childhood, days spent with tomboy friends, and a big old family book of Fairy Tales, bringing them to life.. Thanks for the memories, thanks for your words.
Thank YOU for your kind words and for sharing your memories with me. Makes me happy that I could do that for you ♥
Might this be ever so slightly autobiographical?
mmm maybe
