the clock is nearing
three a.m.
and the bar of life
is on its last call
closing time
one last song
a dance
that took all night long
for me to ask for
and the dj tells me to
say goodnight
but I wind myself
around the floor
alone, but
smiling in his face
as he taps his foot with
the beat of my heart
waiting for me
to make me leave
but
I’m not ready to go
the music is mine

Its gone very pink on here…

I love the ambiance and visual your poem evokes, Kellie, and I posted an oldie of mine on fb on the same topic: https://www.facebook.com/pages/LScott-Poetry/168274026595254
If you haven’t already “liked” this page, would mind supporting me? I was going to delete it, but changed my mind…
Anyway, have a wonderful day! xo

Dancing to life’s music. Awesome! #Dancing!
I really like this!
I have, on occasion, also been the last to leave a bar; but rarely have I been in any condition to dance. Enjoyed this very much, Ms Elmore.
